No TXTing Behind the WheelPennsylvania Gov. Tom Corbett has signed into law a ban on texting or emailing on your cellular phone or tablet while driving. This makes Pennsylvania the 31st state to enact such legislation. The new law carries a $50 fine and is considered a primary offence, meaning a police officer can pull you over and issue a ticket on site. The Governor said: "If you're behind the wheel, drive. If you have that urgent need to text, pull over first, stop the car, and text. ... If it's not important enough to stop your car, then it's certainly not important enough to risk a life." This new law does not itself restrict talking on a cellular phone as other municipal laws may do, such as the one in the City of Erie. Complete Wireless encourages safe usage of cellular phones and fully supports measures such as this. We also offer many wired and Bluetooth handsfree options to allow you to talk legally in all fifty states. Some of our newest devices also offer text-to-voice capabilities with our Android Smartphones. If you have questions regarding the new law, don't hesitate to stop in today. |
